Maybelline nudes eyeshadow palette review

Last Wednesday, I got to get my hands on the all hyped up Maybelline nudes palette. I got it at a affordable price (Rs. 719/- great price for a everyday use palette) from purplle.com with a offer of Maybelline Kajal (I am not a big fan of the Kajal though as I find Lakme Eyeconic one to be better as it is darker, more or less similar price). But I found the deal to be a good one and have been waiting to get this palette for long now.

What it has?

The Maybelline nudes eye-shadow palette comes with 12 neutral eye-shadows with browns, blacks and beige shades. There are 6 glossy shadows and 6 matte shadows in this palette. On first look, this product looks like a really promising everyday nude eye-shadow palette. The palette also comes with a tiny sponge applicator.

Is it good?

First of all I definitely have to say that in the Indian market this seems to be one of the most affordable nude palette in this price range. The eye-shadows are really nice with good color pay off. Another interesting thing about this palette is the combination of both glossy and matte finish neutral shadows. Being an ardent lover of the Revlon single eye-shadows (especially copper shade), this palette is a right mix of glam and class. A good everyday look is definitely achievable with this palette.

Now I definitely answer the question that pops in your mind...No cons?! Yes, there are little things that throws me off about the product. The glossy shades have a good color pay off, the browns and metallics are good but the matte ones are definitely a struggle to apply. If you are looking for best matte everyday shadows this is not the one i would recommend. Even with two to three swipes there is not much color in the matte shades. Another con would be the staying power. The shadow stays for a less time when compared to other shadows. Probably two to three hours max. There would definitely be some color left but not same as you applied it (In this scorching sun outside, it is definitely going to turn messy after few hours). The sponge applicator really has no use though. We could have had a good mirror in the palette but for the price it doesn't matter actually.

Overall, it is a good palette for a nice neutral glossy look. But if you are looking for matte shadows, I would choose others over this.

Stay awesome
